Move Over, Slow Down Campaign
The Move Over, Slow Down law is designed to improve safety for first responders, road workers, and drivers on our roadways. The law requires that drivers move over one lane, if possible, or slow down to 10 mph below the speed limit, or no more than 50 mph when they see emergency vehicles, tow trucks, and other vehicles with flashing lights parked on the side of the road.
It is important for all drivers to be aware of the Move Over, Slow Down law and to follow it when they see emergency or work vehicles on the side of the road. By doing so, they can help to prevent crashes and keep everyone on the road safe.
